  • Court System - The Missouri court system has three levels. At the first level are the Circuit Courts, the primary trial courts. The Circuit Courts handle all civil and criminal matters. Each court has divisions for circuit, associate circuit, small claims, municipal, criminal, family, probate, and juvenile. At the second level is the Court of Appeals, divided into three regional districts, which reviews decisions by the Circuit Courts. At the third and highest level is the Supreme Court of Missouri, which hears cases transferred from the Court of Appeals, along with certain cases appealed directly from the lower courts.  Missouri Court Records
