I Need The Universal Code For An Apex DVD Player?

Getting hold of a universal code for an Apex DVD player can indeed be difficult. A code that has been successful for other users in the past and certainly worth trying is 0156.

I would normally suggest contacting the company direct, but this may prove difficult in this case due to Apex Digital Inc filing for bankruptcy on the 17th August 2010. They do still have a contact number on their website which is 866-427-3946 but how long this will stay active for is sadly unknown.

The Apex DVD player was actually in hot water back in 2000, when it was found out that the DVD player include a secret menu screen that allowed the user to circumvent regional lockout and Macrovision's copy protection. However Apex pleaded their innocence by stating they were unaware this secret menu had been fitted when being made in China.

The DVD players were consequently a big hit on eBay due to this secret menu and were being sold for big money. However when Apex contacted eBay to tell them they had discontinued them and that they should not be allowed to be sold; eBay obliged and banned the listing of any further DVD players with this system installed.

I had the same question and after a bunch of looking around and asking I found out that most Apex DVD players are not compatible with universal remotes, instead they try to sell replacement remotes which cost about the same as a brand new basic feature DVD player, so in other words Apex sucks and have lost many customers because of this (including me), sad but true...
