"Every day, I look forward to working with students to help them realize their full potential in a classroom," she said. "It is difficult for them at first because giving up and not trying is the easier route they could take. With our help, reassurance, and guidance, they are able to see they can do the work at any level."

Educational Assistants play a vital role in the classroom, supporting teachers and providing additional guidance and encouragement to students.

We are celebrating our 2024 Classified Employees of the Year! Hazelwood Elementary`s Accounting Technician, Lisa Nowack, has been with the district for 19 years. Congratulations, Lisa, on being named the school`s Classified Employee of the Year.

Lisa explains, "Being an accounting technician is so much more than taking care of the school`s finances. It’s being in the building every day and watching the difference we are all making in little lives."

"As a member of transportation for 21 years, I have had the daily privilege of being the first and last smiling face our students see," said Retha Holcomb. Retha was recently named a Classified Employee of the Year by the Student Transportation Department!

"I am humbled to be a part of a team that, through constant encouragement to build positive relationships, I am empowering students to become productive members of society. Watching and encouraging our students both on the bus and with extracurricular activities has brought me such joy. We make a difference!"

Rossview Elementary is celebrating Morgan Washer as their 2024 Classified Employee of the Year! Morgan has been a Hawk for 5 years and currently serves as an administrative assistant.

"The only way you can do great work is to love what you do," Morgan said. "I truly love every aspect of Rossview Elementary! I adore seeing all the sweet smiles from students every day and being able to help our precious families in any way I can. I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school and work with so many amazing people! Go Hawks!"

The annual Classified Employee of the Year celebration honors our classified staff`s hard work and service. Each school or department nominates someone who has made a difference this year.

Congratulations, Jacqueline Porchia, the 2024 West Creek High School nominee! Jacqueline is a Special Education Assistant and has been with the district since 2014.

Jacqueline says her favorite thing about her career is "being able to meet students where they are and provide support to help them to become academically successful."

REPORT CARDS ARE NOW AVAILABLE

CMCSS student report cards for the previous nine weeks of the 2023-24 school year are now available. Parents and guardians, you can access your child’s report card through your ParentSquare account or via parents.cmcss.net.

If you have issues accessing your child’s report card, please contact your child’s enrolled school. The report card available through Parent Self-Service is considered the official report card with comments for the grading period.

Parents/guardians can check their student’s academic progress on PowerSchool anytime. PowerSchool is the official grade book and attendance tracker for CMCSS. While some digital learning platforms have a grade book, please note that official grades will only be recorded in PowerSchool.

If you need to create a PowerSchool account, visit https://powerschool.cmcss.net/public/, click the Create Account tab, and complete the form. If you do not know the Access ID for your child(ren), please contact your child(ren)’s school(s) or use the Parent Self-Service webpage (https://parents.cmcss.net) and click on Get Student Security Info.
