I stayed in this hotel earlier this year (2015), so here go my view points:
      Good:
      - Location: it is located just two blocks from London Underground which makes it easy to get from your hotel to everywhere you want. This also gives it the advantage that is in an area where there is lots of people late at night and a variety of restaurants nearby.

      Bad:
      - As mentioned before the rooms are super tiny (and I'm not a tall person to start with) but my friend and I could hardly fit in there along with your coats and suitcases.
      - Wifi? First, it is not free. They do have a computer that charges while you are in the internet but it wasn't working, not even the internet in their own computers was working at a time! Very frustrating if you want to surf the internet to plan your day ahead.
      - Breakfast... just bread and coffee. nothing else, no changes in the menu.

      Worst:
Their service is definitively something they need to improve on a LOT. I could give you several examples from my visit but I think just a couple will be enough to give you an idea. We asked on several occasions for an extra towel for our room (we were three people) and even though they promised to get it to our room it never happened. They even took it away when they cleaned our rooms in the morning and we had to request it again. Another example? Imagine arriving at your hotel after a 16 hr flight and that they make you wait for like an hour because they can't find your reservation (but they have already charged your credit card, btw).

Overall, go somewhere else if you can...

I give the hotel two stars; one for the location, and one for the receptionist. He was so nice and friendly! The location is perfect - close to Queensway st., Hyde Park, and shopping.
The rooms were horrible, though. Awful mattresses, thin blankets, showers with low water pressure. We had to buy our own hand soap! And the breakfast wasn't even worth it; we ended up buying breakfast elsewhere.

I booked this hotel by mistake thinking it was a different hotel by the same name that appears to be around two blocks away from here. Although they provide breakfast you are practically on your own for the day. No extra pillows are provided and the one member of staff I've seen all day thinks he is in no position of help. The sofas in the lobby are more comfortable than the guest beds where the duvets don't even go down to your knees the rest of the bed is covered with a white sheet.

      Dissatisfaction with the Apollo Hotel

Never in my life had I experienced a hotel stay (April 2015) like the one I had at the Apollo Hotel, and it was not a stay that I would like to remember. My first complaint would have to be before I even arrived at the hotel, about a month before my stay I emailed the hotel asking for suggestions on Stonehenge tours as there are many listed online and I figured that my hotel could recommend one. I did mention that the tours fill up so that booking in advance was my intention. I received a response from the hotel saying "I'm pretty sure we have some brochures you can look at upon arrival." This was not the response I was looking for and immediately picked up on the poor customer service.

Also, my friend that I was traveling with had previously emailed the Apollo Hotel to inform them that our flight arrived in the early morning and asked if we would be able to check in early on April 17th, they did reply that if they had a room available then we could check in or else they would hold our luggage. Upon our arrival on April 17th we walked into the hotel and immediately the man at the front desk said check in is not till 3:00. Without checking, he immediately said they had no available rooms. I did not appreciate the fact that he did not even bother to check, but we politely accepted his response and left our luggage to venture out for our first day in London. When returning to the hotel for check in we were informed that anytime we were to leave the hotel that we had to return our 1 key to the front desk. Never have I experienced this and therefore we asked why this was, and their response was for fire safety purposes. Their explanation did not sit well with me, but again I politely accepted their policy and continued to my room.

When arriving to my room I was stunned at the appearance of the room, and did not look forward to spending the next 4 nights there. For instance, the twin mattresses were sitting on the floor, and along with those two beds there was also a set of bunk beds therefore equaling 4 beds when we only had 2 guests staying in the room. There was no clock, a huge visible tear in my mattress, cracks in the bathroom mirror, missing hardware on all of the tables and closets, no hand soap or shampoo, and no hand towel in the restroom. Also, many times we had to use the lobby bathroom because our toilet would not fully flush. Also, after staying 4 nights, never once were our bed sheets cleaned.

There is no amount of money that I would consider acceptable to pay to stay in this hotel. Again, it was not a stay that I wish to remember and I would not suggest this hotel to anyone and would like a full refund.
